Food and Art Workshop with Clare Anne O’Keefe
Adults €20, Teens €10
Join us for an afternoon of cooking and art!
Make cheese from scratch, learn about paint made from milk and create your own edible artwork made with dyes foraged from nature. Inspired by Artist Eamon Coleman’s exhibition ‘Twenty Eight Acres’
Savour Kilkenny and Butler Gallery invites you to delve into a flavourful and tactile journey with this workshop inspired by Eamon Colman’s poignant exhibition “Twenty Eight Acres,” where history, nature, and art coalesce.
We will be making a magical soft cheese from Irish Dairy milk and transforming it into an edible masterpiece with natural food paints, flowers and wild herbs. Come and learn to make dye from cabbage and baking soda, how to turn milk into paint and even a few impressive plating tips!
Drawing inspiration from the delicate nuances of Colman’s work, it invites participants to engage, reflect, and transform.
The juxtaposition of slow cooking with foraged ingredients and the embellishing of the ingredients serve as a tactile metaphor for the balance and tension between Culture and Nature.
Each participant will leave not only with a nourishing dish but also with a heightened sense of the environment’s fragility, beauty, and inherent resilience
