Monday 17th March 2025
Location: Rothe House, 16 Parliament St,
On St. Patrick’s Day, in a dramatic display, the Kilkenny Historical Re-enactment Group will take visitors back to medieval Kilkenny to relive that fateful day of November 3 in the year 1324 with The Trial of Dame Alice Kyteler.

Join us in Kilkenny as we bring this gripping story to life, recreating the trial that saw Alice Kyteler accused of witchcraft in 1324. While Alice escaped, her servant, Petronilla de Meath, became the first person burned at the stake for witchcraft in Ireland.

Through this immersive performance, experience the fear, superstition, and power struggles of medieval Ireland. Whether you’re a history enthusiast or just looking for a unique event, this reenactment is not to be missed!
