We’re delighted to bring back The Kilkenny Portrait Show 2025, selected by Irish artist and Aosdána member Bernadette Kiely @bernadettekiely 🎨✨

Prize of 1000e to the Winner of the Best portrait, which will be selected by Bernadette Kiely.
Exhibition curated by Mary Doyle Burke.

🔹 WHO CAN ENTER?
Open to artists over 18 living anywhere on the island of Ireland, including Northern Ireland.
🔹 ELIGIBLE MEDIA
Handmade work in all traditional media: painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics. No photography or digital printouts are allowed.
🔹 THE SUBJECT
Portraits can be abstract or realistic, but a human presence must be clear
🔹 KEY DATES
🖼️ Submission Deadline: 14th March, 10pm
📢 Selection Announced: 19th March
📦 Artwork Drop-off: 21st–23rd March
🎉 Opening: Saturday 29th March, 2pm
🖼️ Exhibition Runs: 29th March – 26th April
📦 Collection: Monday 28th April, 12–4:30pm
🔹 ENTRY DETAILS
✅ One entry per artist
✅ Digital submission via email (JPEG file must be named as instructed)
✅ Fee: €20 (covers install & invigilation – pay via link in bio)
🔹 SALES & COMMISSIONS
Portraits can be for sale (not required). Gallery commission:
🖼 25% on sales during the exhibition run
🎨 20% on portrait commissions arising
