It’s Friday the 13th! And we’re ignoring that fact to bring you a non-spooktacular special. No ghosts, no ghouls – just great comedians who will deliver an evening of wall-to-wall laughs. Kevin Gildea, Tommy NIcholson, Emer McGinnity, Barry Lysaght and Cormac Sinnott will be performing. That’s a great mix of legends, veterans and upcoming new acts. You’re going to love them all.
Kevin Gildea is a true legend in Irish comedy. As part of Mr Trellis with Barry Murphy and Ardal O’Hanlon he founded the Comedy Cellar, Dublin’s longest running comedy club. Kevin is a comedian, a writer, a performer, a dancer, a matador and an astronaut. He’s been in Father Ted, Irish Pictorial Weekly and wrote and directed the hilarious IFTA winning film No, No, No.
Tommy Nicholson was dubbed the “king of underground comedy in Ireland” by Des Bishop. He has been writing and performing stand up for over two decades. He has supported such acts as Jason Byrne, Tommy Tiernan, PJ Gallagher, Des Bishop, Ardal O’Hanlon and Deirdre O’Kane, all across the country.
Barry Lysaght is a Dublin based comedian who’s been on the scene since 2019. Last year Barry was a finalist in Cherry Comedy’s Breakout Act of the Year competition and won the inaugural Ha’Penny Comedy Club’s Box Comedy Competition.
Emer McGinnity is new on the comedy scene but already making a name for herself – reaching the final of numerous competition competitions all within her first year. You’re going to love her.
Finally we have Cormac Sinnott – another new comic with acres of potential. He’s been personally endorsed by one of our favourite headline acts and we’re delighted to be able to bring him to Kilkenny for the first time.
