Saturday 12th August 2023
Location: Parade Kilkenny.
With her debut novel, Nothing Special, Nicole Flattery has established herself as one of Ireland’s most exciting and versatile writers. The novel imagines the lives of two young women transcribing events at the Factory, Andy Warhol’s studio in New York.
Their work was later published as A: A Novel, with Warhol’s name on the cover, but the names of the women who created it were erased. Flattery joins art critic and broadcaster Cristín Leach to talk about her fascination with the Factory and the challenge of imagining the lives of women written out of history.
