Known to be the most complex wind instrument, this iconic Irish instrument was recognised by UNESCO in 2017 as part of its list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Twenty years ago the Kilkenny Uilleann Pipers Club was formed to help encourage and cultivate the playing of the uilleann pipes in the Kilkenny area through a combination of classes, workshops concerts and sessions. Why not join some local and not so local pipers to hear this instrument played in an informal session setting.
