Kilkenny Uilleann Pipers

The Uilleann Pipes are recognised as a UNESCO Heritage Instrument. The Kilkenny Uilleann Pipers Club are a Kilkenny City based organisation aiming to both preserve and promote the appreciation of uilleann pipes, and the teaching and learning of Irish traditional Irish music in Kilkenny.

We will have the following two events taking place at Rothe House for Culture Night:

‘Try-the Pipes’ event gives an opportunity for those interested or curious about the uilleann pipes to come along and try them out with experienced uilleann pipe tutors from 6-7pm

‘The History of Uilleann Pipes, Pipers and Pipemakers in Kilkenny City and Surrounds’ A lecture given by John & David Tuohy and Pat Murphy), concluding with a short recital by local Kilkenny pipers from 7.15- 8.30 p.m.
