Karl Spain’s Economical Walking Tour

Saturday 09th November 2024
Location: Kilkenny City
SOLD OUT

Kilkenny in the 16th and 17th centuries was a prosperous merchant city whose wealthy burghers built the McMansions of the day, one of the finest of which – Rothe House – is perfectly preserved to this day. During the Catholic Confederate Parliament in the 1680s, the city was home to Papal Nuncio Cardinal Rinuccini and was a thriving cosmopolitan centre of culture, trade and carousing, much of it centred on the Hole in the Wall – one of our Kilkenomics venues. Join local historian Pat Tynan and comedian Karl Spain on a fascinating, hilarious and wholly unreliable guided tour of economical Kilkenny from medieval times to today.
