Wednesday 14th August 2024
Location: St. John’s Priory, Kilkenny
Finghin Collins and Máire Carroll – two of Ireland’s most celebrated pianists – join forces to perform this exhilarating programme of new music by many of our finest living composers.
The Ros Tapestry Suite is a series of compositions inspired by the tapestries of the same name that tell the story of the Norman invasion of Ireland. To mark the completion of these tapestries (now on display in Kilkenny Castle), Finghin Collins and Máire Carroll present the first performance of the entire Ros Tapestry Suite.
Featuring work by Linda Buckley, Sam Perkin, Sebastian Adams, Gráinne Mulvey, Elaine Agnew, Gerald Barry and more, the Ros Tapestry Suite is an exhilarating journey through Ireland’s ancient past, in a thrilling mix of modern styles.
