Taking place in a secret location and combining film, installation and soundscape, The Detached Project is a new site-specific work that explores the impact of our surroundings on our sense of self.
Made by Elaine McCague in collaboration with cinematographer Olga Kuzmenko and textile artist Hazel Mc Cague, The Detached Project goes far beyond conventional forms, prompting deep questions about identity and the concept of home.
Elaine McCague is co-artistic director of Loosysmokes, the award-winning modern art circus company whose innovative shows (Behind the Dark, Raven Eyed and In Rhythms), staged in unusual spaces around Kilkenny, have wowed Festival audiences.
