Ho! Ho! Ho! It’s Dec 8th: Culchie Shopping Day – the day when country folk traditionally go to their local comedy club and boycott Dublin shops. So to keep up that very real tradition we’ve got a christmassy line-up of Paul Marsh, Bláithín de Burca, Nghia Mai, Jo Heffernan and Craig Moran for your tinsel-tickling entertainment.
For 13 years now, Paul Marsh has been a regular on the Irish comedy scene headlining clubs all over Ireland and appearing regularly at festivals like ‘Electric Picnic’ and ‘The Paddy Power Comedy Festival’. He’s appeared on numerous RTE comedy shows and most recently on ‘The Secrets of the Comedy circuit’ on UTV. Paul is also the resident MC of three comedy clubs that he runs in Kildare, Dublin and Wicklow. Most recently Paul brought his third one man show to the Edinburgh fringe, followed by a sold out tour of Ireland and published a book of one liners called ‘Irish Dad Jokes’.
A regular headliner and MC on iconic Dublin stages and festivals, Bláithín de Burca’s wry humour and sassy style leaves you wondering if she wants to fight or flirt… it’s often both. Bláithín is a member of Hysteria Comedy Co-hosting 2 new monthly shows at Sin É tin 2023: Date Nite and Mole Hills To Die On.
Nghia Mai has performed his unique brand of racially-infused humour on numerous stages across the world, entertaining audiences with his colourful stories including the relentless mispronunciation of his name. In September 2019, he moved to Dublin and has already made it to the finals of a number of competitions including the Cherry Comedy Breakout Act of the Year and Dublin’s Next Top Comic. He has performed at multiple festivals including the Kilkenny Cat Laughs, Scene + Heard and Paddy Power Comedy Festival.
Jo Heffernan is a comedian from Wexford. She has performed internationally in Ireland, the UK and New Zealand and has been selected to perform as part of the Scene & Heard Festival (2020 & 2023), BCC New Comedy Competition (2022), Cherry Breakout Semi-finalist (2022), & Funny Women (2018 & 2019).
Craig Moran started doing stand up late in life at 27. But, once he began, he never looked back. He’s a regular at all the major comedy clubs in Ireland. Craig is co founder of Institches Comedy Club where he can be seen regularly performing and Mcing, 7 nights a week.
