It’s April and we’re bringing you a veritable smorgasbord of new and established comedy talent to enjoy! This month we have Eric Lalor, Kevin O’Connell, Daniel Lukas, Laura Greene and Christopher O’Leary.
Launched into comedy via Des Bishop’s Joy in the Hood show in 2006, Eric Lalor has been a mainstay on the Irish comedy scene ever since. He’s a regular at the Cat Laughs, the Electric Picnic, Galway Comedy Festival, Edinburgh Fringe, and Iveagh Gardens Comedy Festivals. He became a household name in Ireland playing the gangland villain Cathal Spillane in Fair City.
Kevin O’Connell is a high energy, offbeat act with an unpredictable stage presence who honed his act on the UK comedy circuit. He has been a finalist in the prestigious Hackney Empire New Act of the Year, shortlisted for the BBC New Comedy Award and shortly after returning to Cork was the winner of the Comedy Cavern Comedian of the Year (often referred to as the Cork Comedian of the Year).
Daniel Lukas is a German comedian making waves in the Irish comedy scene. His satirical skits on TikTok during the pandemic quickly went viral and gained a large following. Following this, he quickly established himself as a rising star – making it to the finals of every new talent competition in the country, including Show Me The Funny 2022 and Cherry Breakout Act of the Year 2022. He is now a resident comedian at Cork City’s CoCo Comedy Club, where he has opened for notable acts like Killian Sunderman and Chris Kent.
After 13 years of producing great telly both at home and in the UK, Laura Greene finally got near the microphone in 2023 and has been addicted ever since. She’s gigged in the iconic Comedy Cellar in Dublin, The Comedy Crunch, Craic Den, Cherry Comedy and many more. She’s also the instigator who corralled two of her comedy heroes (Deirdre O’Kane and Emma Doran) into making the new Keep it TIght podcast.
Christopher O’Leary is the regular host of the Comedy Cavern in Cork, and appears regularly at clubs all over Ireland. He came second in the prestigious Cherry New Act competition in 2020 and competed in the Showcases of the BBC New Comedy Awards 2023.
