Aoife Ní Bhriain and Welsh harpist Catrin Finch released Double You to critical acclaim in 2023, with a nomination for Best Album at the RTÉ Folk Awards last year. Combining plaintive fiddle/hardanger with delicate harp-playing, their collaboration weaves traditional and classical motifs into something genuinely unique.
Ní Bhriain is well-known to Kilkenny audiences and celebrated for her adept crossing of musical boundaries embracing classical, traditional, jazz and contemporary music. Finch is a musician equally committed to exploring the boundaries of classical music and folk, whose collaborations with musicians as diverse as Seckou Keita and John Rutter have won awards and acclaim in equal measure.
