Taking inspiration from the New Year and St. Brigid, participants will make small rounded, refined clay bowls. This full day course will lead the class through the use of simple sgraffito, incising, embossing and sprig-mould relief techniques and natural oxide colours to decorate. The final work will result in three unique nesting bowls, displaying the various techniques taught in the class.
This Adult Art Class is suitable for everyone, no prior experience with clay or sculpture is necessary. The class will provide a creative, enjoyable, tactile experience, with each participant having sculptural creations to take home, ready for display.

About:
Clare is an Irish Ceramic and Visual Artist, based on the Kilkenny-Carlow border.
Clare’s style is intuitive and is inspired by the material she works with, nature, use of colour and an Asia-pacific aesthetic, where she lived while studying art and ceramics. She creates unique pieces that will intrigue, inspire or bring joy to the viewer.
Her unique pieces of ceramic and visual art work have found their way into the homes of collectors around the world. She has taken part in many exhibitions in Ireland and New Zealand.
Through workshops and classes, Clare also enjoys sharing her knowledge and love of working with clay and other media with both adults and children. With over 10 years teaching experience, she gently guides participants to explore the material, have fun and learn the necessary basic skills. At the same time Clare encourages participants to reconnect with their passions, curiosity, and own creator selves.
