An Evening of Traditional Irish Music with Pádraic Keane, Páraic Mac Donnchadha and Macdara Ó Faoláin and Nell Ní Chroinín
Páraic Mac Donnchadha, Pádraic Keane & Macdara Ó Faoláin first started playing together during a session at Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy some years ago. They recently released a trio album entitled ‘Beo’. The idea of this live album was to try to create and capture the sense of an informal, relaxed session-type environment, with the freedom, freshness and natural flow of emerging tune selections that a good session will generate.
Páraic Mac Donnchadha has played tenor banjo for almost forty years and now shares his wealth of experience, insight and musical pedigree.
Uilleann piper Pádraic Keane hails from Maree, Co. Galway and was born into a great musical family. In 2011 he was awarded TG4 Young Musician of the Year. He has toured America as a soloist with The Irish Chamber Orchestra and has collaborated with Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin, The RTE Concert and Symphony Orchestras as well as various string quartets.
Macdara Ó Faoláin is a young bouzouki player from An Rinn, Co Waterford, renowned for his innovative approach to traditional Irish music. He is this years young musician of the year.
