Concluding Saturday on the Savour Stage will be a screening of a short film ‘Growing in Bosco’s Boots’ by local producer Shane Hatton of Bosco’s Garden.
After the passing of Shane’s brother, Bosco, he and his family set out to fulfil a dream they had shared. Over 4 years, they transformed an empty field into a no-dig permaculture homestead, market garden and food forest just outside Kilkenny City. It includes wildlife ponds and habitat for nurturing a balance of biodiversity; A garden ecosystem they came to find integral to growing healthy plants and truly organic food. They set up a farm shop that surged in popularity over the years and even began supplying local restaurants with their flavourful produce grown in living soil.
This is their story. A tale of growth. A film and a dream, many years in the making. A dedication to Shane’s brother, Bosco, and the garden named in his memory. A testament to the utility and satisfaction of gardening/farming with nature.
