Hardanger fiddle player and violinist Aoife Ní Bhriain is adept at crossing musical boundaries, embracing classical, traditional, jazz and contemporary music.
An artist who thrives on collaboration, she’s performed with a diverse range of musicians over the years, teaming up with dancer Colin Dunne at last year’s Festival.
In the first of two duets this year, she joins forces with the equally versatile viola da gamba player Liam Byrne for The Harmonic Labyrinth, a wide-ranging programme that presents new settings of works by Tommy Potts and the great French Baroque composer Sainte-Colombe alongside Bach, Locatelli and groundbreaking original works.
