Friday 16th August 2024
Location: Kilkenny Home Rule Club, R95 T382
It’s our second birthday! And what better way to celebrate than by inviting back two of the brilliant comedians who helped launch the club on a sweaty August night in 2022. That’s right it’s the return of Edwin Sammon and Emily Ashmore with support from Kat O’Hanlon and John Doran.
Everyone’s a winner at our shows but thanks to our sponsors Rí-Rá Beer this month one lucky audience member will win even bigger! (Win more bigly?) Buy a ticket, come to the show and you could be our Rí-Rá VIP for the night! Plus there’s other prizes to be won too! You won’t get that sitting home on the couch!
Here’s more details on our comedians:
Edwin Sammon has established himself as one of the most popular stand up comedians in the country over the last decade. After winning the Golden Toilet Duck award for best new comedian in 2011 he went on to support the likes of Ardal O’Hanlon, Jason Byrne, Deirdre O’ Kane and Tommy Tiernan before appearing on RTE’s Republic Of Telly and its popular spin off show Bridget And Eamon. He has played every major festival in the country and beyond and is a crowd favourite everywhere he goes!
Since winning the Cherry Comedy Break Out Act of the Year in 2019 Emily Ashmore has become one of that fastest rising stars on the Irish comedy circuit. She’s performed at the Vodafone Comedy Festival, Vicar Street, Electric Picnic and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and has opened for the likes of Des Bishop, Joe Rooney and Damo Clark. And she helped launch a little club you might know right here in Kilkenny!
Kat O’Hanlon started doing stand up in Buffalo, NY in 2010. Since then, she has performed all across the USA & Ireland developing her own unique style. Now living rurally, in the Midlands, her material has grown exponentially. Last year she helped us celebrate our first birthday and killed so hard we just had to have her back for our second!
Making his Kilkenny Comedy Club debut is the hilarious John Doran! He’s part wholesome and part demon. When he’s not online begging for his wife Cynthia to take him back, John works as an actor. You’ve seen him on your TV and phone screens, now come see him in the flesh before your very eyes!
